Fund Raiser!

Tonight I made two cakes for a fund raiser. I had alot of fun, as if you couldn't tell! decorating the cake is always the funnest part of making it! I hope they raise a lot of money! Let me know what you think!

First we have a Cappuccino Torte. This consists of almond, chocolate sponge, layered with a scrumptious whipped, chocolate, cream cheese filling, frosted with a very buttery Espresso butter cream!

Second, we have my favorite! A moist pina colada cake, filled with a luscious, creamy pineapple filling, frosted with a cloud like coconut whip cream, and topped with perfectly toasted coconut, to add that ideal crunch for texture! WOW! Are you hungry yet? I know I am!!!!

Only One Week!!!

Exactly one week left until I begin the baking program at college! I'm so Excited! It's going to be amazing! Imagine, baking all day! Hooray! So, this week I went and got my chef uniforms and supplies for school. I feel so authentic... At first I was iffy about the hat, but it's definitely grown on me. I feel like a real pastry chef already! I'll keep you posted on what I'm learning and trying.
This first quarter I'm going to start by learning about Yeast bread, quick breads, cakes, pies, and tarts!
Any comments or suggestions are very welcome!

Hello Everyone! I thought I'd give you a little taste of what I've been cook'in up this last week! The Monkey  bread and chocolate cheesecake I made at a friends. It was SO much fun! The only thing I know of that makes Baking better is doing it with a friend.

Chocolate coconut cupcakes

Parmesan Black Pepper Monkey Bread

Chocolate Caramel Cheesecake

Mexican vanilla sponge with lemon curd, coconut mouse, and meringue

Upside down Pineapple cupcakes (I'll have to get a picture for you of the frosted
ones, they looked like little pina coladas!)

More Cupcakes......

Yesterday I did a Cupcake Display for a friend. She wanted cupcakes (80) in the shape of a "Fleur De Lis". It was tedious but fun! My friend, Amy, helped me out. (Thanks, Amy!!!) Here's some pictures. Let me know what you think!
